Proper
Lifting Techniques:
- Avoid
lifting in the first place.

Use dollies or lifts as aids if possible.

Don't be too proud to ask for help.
- Keep
load as close as possible to the body.
- Keep
back straight.
- Spread
feet for good balance.
- Tighten
stomach muscles and buttocks.
- Lift
with your legs, not with your back!
- When
lifting with another person, give verbal instructions
clearly - say: "lift", "walk"
or "unload".
Do
Not:
- Twist
while lifting (move legs instead).
- Lift
above shoulders or below waist.
